For a couple of months I've been planning on building a brand new pc for next gen gaming. Originally I was going to go for the gtx 770 zotac amp edition as I thought it was one of the best for its price. However now I've looked more into it since the £50 cheaper R9 280x has come out and a lot of people are saying the new games will be optimised to work with amd as that is what is in the ps4 and Xbox one. Another thing to mention is that I've read a lot that due to the games being much better graphically, they are going to need more Memory which the zotac AMP lacks however the R9 280x has an extra 1gb of memory. Will all this be enough to make the r9 280x a better choice when it comes to future games?

I'm planning on running all games on highest settings in 1080p on a 23" monitor as I know a lot depends on this aswell

It's mantle api what they are talking about but since it's open, nvidia can also implement it.. But r9 sounds a buy better option... Eventually amd's drivers well also improve and you will be able to harness better performance.

I've just been looking at graphics cards again and I found out that there is a gtx 780 3gb amp edition. One of the main reasons I was put off by the gtx 770 amp is that it only had 2gb. Would this mean that there could eventually be a 3gb 770 amp, as the 780 is way out of my price range
