i recently purchase a hp compaq 8300 mt desktop system and a 4gb gtx 760 evga graphic card the requirement of the graphic card is at least 500 watt power supply with a pci-e power . my hp compaq elite 8300 has just 320 watts power output and no pci-e power connector on
pls what do i do?

You have two options as I see it.

1. You can chance it and try to use the installed power supply with the graphics cards by using possibly included Molex to PCIe adapters (molex is a rectangular/usually translucent plastic 4-pin connector roughly 1.25"/3cm wide) Doing this, make sure each adapter is connected to a separate Molex cable as it comes out of the power supply, not just two connectors on the same cable.

--320 watts should be enough to just squeak by on power, although it will place nearly 100% load on the PSU while gaming which could quickly burn out the unit or render your computer inoperable due to insufficient power. Also, the included power supply is probably not of the highest quality, making this endeavor even more dangerous.

I want to run a EVGA GTX 950 in a HP Compaq 8300 Elite CMT i7 3770, 500GB WD Blue, DVD/RW. EVGA 950 has a 6-pin power plug but the PSU is a proprietary PSU without any Pci-e 6-pin plug or any 4 pin molex connectors to convert with an adapter to the Pci-e 6 pin for extra power. The GPU has total power draw of 110 watts and draws around 12 amps. The slot in the 8300 is 75 watts. So the only way to provide extra power to the GPU's 6 pin pci-e would be use a dual 15 pin male to 6 pin pci-e adapter cable that I see advertised a lot. The power supply is 320 watt with three 12+. One is +12 Vmain /16A, another is +12 Vcpu/16A and the other one is +12 Vsb/1.3A. So my question I can't find an answer to. I want to make sure it's okay to use 2 (both not from the same run as there are two different sata wire runs, one to the DVD/RW and the other to the HD) of the PSU's 15 pin female sata power connectors to a dual sata 15 pin male to 6 pin pci-e adapter. The card from what I understand isn't power hungry and it needs 35 additional watts as the slot has only 75 watts of power to provide. Will the 15 pin sata's provide the extra power? get a gtx 750 ti that runs off the power of the pcie slot alone

or you could buy another power supply, just to run the gtx 950 ( at that point you should get something like a gtx 970 )
and keep it outside the case in an enclosure

Thanks for the message. If you look this is a proprietary PSU. It has one 6 pin, a 4 pin and a flat 6 pin instead of the 20/24 pin. Very different.
