I custom built my pc from parts from newegg last January and has been running smoothly until recently. Skyrim looks gorgeous on it and I don't know what a loading screen looks like! haha =P
Ever since I installed WoW again my video card started crashing and restoring right back after 5mins of having WoW (freakin WoW of all things, cripples my pc) open or even just at the character select screen, but it was always only once per start up. It got worse last week and started freezing/crashing and not restoring back at all, even without any kind of game running sometimes. I wanted to do a fresh install of windows and wiped my harddrive clean and I was able to successfully back up my stuff and reinstall windows 7 but when I logged into the brand new account for the first time and tried to install any drivers it froze again. After that it couldn't even get to the login screen before freezing, usually stopped at the windows logo.
My first thought in beginning was that it was the video card, so I switched the video card with another that was working and that worked for a bit in the beginning, but once it got to the point where the pc freezes before logging into windows, neither card made a difference. I just got a new motherboard (thinking that might be the problem) and put everything together perfectly and it turns on with lights and all fans running but now there's nothing on the screen at all, no motherboard bios or anything.
I'd like to think I'm good with pcs but I'm stumped on what I need to do to get my pc back. There's the right amount of CPUpaste and before reinstalling windows I had CoreTemp and another widget/gadget monitoring my video card so I know for sure the temps aren't getting higher than 60Celsius in there. My next ideas were to go look at new CPUs or new video cards. (Given that the vcard I switched with wasn't of the same performance caliber as my original.)
Any advice or theories would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
