Hi, my System listed below;

Intel i5 3570k processor, Overclocked to 4.6GHZ
ASUS P8Z77-V LX Motherboard
Corsair 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600 RAM
Corsair SSD 120gb 2.5 Force Gt Series
SAPPHIRE TECHNOLOGY Radeon HD 7950 Vapor-X- 3 GB GDDR5-PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
Inwin Dragon Rider Full Tower Case, White
Corsair Gamer Series GS600 PC Power Supply 600W PSU
Western Digital 1TB Caviar Green 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
Sony 24x Internal Drive DVD+/-RW Dual Layer CD-R/RW SATA

With the Asus Motherboard it has a quick start system on it if the operating system is installed on the SSD. Only problem is when i put op system on it (win7pro64), program files remain on it and SSD becomes full quickly. Have tried op system on hard drive, but then loose the fast start up facility. Can anyone suggest how I can get the benefit of the fast start with the storage of the hard drive?

if you wanted to put all of your files and programs on the ssd you should have bought a larger ssd to start with.

you only want to fill a ssd to about 80% capacity. that instantly cuts you down to 96gb and then factor in an os install of about 30gb which cuts you down to 66gb of usable space. you can fill this up rather quickly depending on what you install there.

now what you should do is only install the operating system and a few core programs on the ssd such as office, adobe pdf reader, etcetera. store all of your games, programs you do not use often and data files on the hdd.

you can install programs on a different hard disk than windows is on.

Install windows and some games or programs that you want to start quickly on the SSD and then install non-critical programs on your hard drive.

If you have both drives initialized, you should be able to simply plug in the secondary drive (the HDD in this case) and make sure the SSD is selected as the boot drive in the bios. After that, install the programs on either device as needed. Point your web browser program to put downloads in a new 'downloads' folder on the HDD. Do the same with your documents folders, just copy the folder structure from the windows documents folder to the HDD and save everything there. All your programs should save to the last saved location so it will continually look at the HDD folders.
