I got two MSI Radeon HD 7850 today, I tried to install them, my computer would not boot at all.
My Mobo has 2 PCIEX16 slots, but the other one runs at (4x) speed instead of (16x) and first I tried to put the DVI from the 16x slot, and thats when it did not boot at all, okay then I put the DVI cable to the 4x slot and then it started... shut down on itself.. started again on itself... shutdown.. then it started and booted on the third time, and got to windows, but my GPU-Z nor CCC cant see that I have 2x cards connected to the MoBo
I tried the cards separately, they both work fine.
I got my CrossFire connector from old Asus Radeon HD 6850, so is it outdated or something? like its CrossFire, and these would need CrossFireX?, anyway I need some help with this, my system is:
P8B75-V MoBo
Intel i5 3570k(Turbo mode on)
SeaGate Barracuda 1TB HDD 6Gb/s 64MB Cache
2x 4 GB RipJaws 1600Hz Ram
Chieftec BPS-750C (750W)
Windows 7 Home Edition

I'm not sure what the issue is. Crossfire is what you need. CrossfireX is for more than 2 cards. Make sure both cards are powered. In GPU-Z, it won't specify the cards are in crossfire, but what it does is give you two of the same card under the selected GPU in the drop down list assuming your cards are really in Crossfire and functioning properly. You should definitely install or reinstall fresh drivers to see if that helps. Other than that, I really have no other advice for you. Hope this helps :/
