no i know its not to bad but from countless accounts it doesnt beat high air coolers which are cheaper and it doesnt compete with custom loops

The closed loop typically is a 120mm - these are 240mm (2x) and 360mm (3x).

The pump is stronger than what's in a closed loop - stronger flow.

There are some larger closed loop systems but you're still stuck with that for life. These would give you a starting point to building a larger system. These would allow you to add additional radiators in the future and cool your video card(s) as well.

These aren't the highest end but it'll get you started.

Just understand what you're getting into.

Maintenance - this isn't a put it in and ignore it like the closed systems are. You're going to have to change the fluid every 6 months... you'll probably want to tear it down every year to make sure that nothing is getting clogged.

You're also introducing a conductive material into your system. You're going to have to make sure you keep things tightened (not too much) so that you dont' spring a leak and destroy everything in your case.

Most people don't do this "just for fun".

XSPC makes a lot of very cool "loop in a box" kits that start at about $150. Even at that basic price they include a pump/reservoir assembly, 240 Radiator, LED CPU waterblock, hoses and fittings that will destroy even the best all in one cooler like an H100i in terms of cooling performance. These kits range from this basic config all the way up to big 360 Rads, Huge pumps capable of full system and SLI loops, compression fittings and fluid. Here is a link to a site called FrozenCPU that will have all the kits specifications and available for sale.

The H220 supports adding more blocks to the loop, it has a full apogee pump with the CPU waterblock
