Alright so last night my pc crashed (i assume), it froze on some blocky wierd messed up screen. i turned it off by holding the power button down.
Now the computer will start up, fans going, lights and everything, but it doesnt send any signal to the monitor.

Ive troubleshooted it a bit with my old computer. Ive determined that my Graphics card, the monitor, and the HDMI cable im using are not the problem by testing them all with my old computer.

I have a RAID on this computer, and i would like to still have all of the data thats on it after this is over. i have recent backups, but i was working on a project last night that i dont want to redo.

btw i bought this comp used off my roomate, so forgive me if i dont know every little detail about this computer.

Current comp:
HD 6970 Radeon Graphics Card
Amd Crosshair 4 motherboard
4gb RAM Corsair Dominator-GT
dont know the CPU, its hidden behind a humongous fan, i know its a six core processor
Storage is 4 60gb solid state drives in a raid, i am assuming RAID-5
1000w power supply

Old comp (just cause):
2 HD Radeon 5830's crossfire
Amd Crosshair 5 formula
8 gb ram
700 power supply

so yeah, just need to figure out whats not working and why, and then figure out what to do from there i guess.

Thanks for the help!

could be a problem with your RAM, if you have onboard graphics available remove your card and try turning your computer on with only one of your RAM cards installed(if the first doesnt work try each of them by itself)

I had the same problem. All you have to do is reset the cmos battery on your motherboard. The cmos battery is the little button cell battery. To reset you cmos you should see your motherboard manual.
