Hi all,
I bought AMD HD 7870 and found out it needs 2 6pin- PCI/e power wires to drive it. However, my 550w psu only has one 6pin PCI/e wire. But the psu does have one extra wire with 2 4pin Molex Connectors. And it also provides a 2x4pin to 6pin PCI/e adapter wire. I want to use that extra power wire as the additional 6pin PCI/e wire, but I also heard there might be current and voltage issues. So can anyone give me some advice according to my desktop specs?
Specs:
Graphics: AMD HD 7870 by HIS
CPU: i3-3225
RAM: Corsair 2x4GB
MB: Asrock Z75 pro
PSU: Logisys BLACK 550W 120MM BALL BEARING FAN PSU
Thank you all!
