I am having some issues with my Seagate ST2000DL003 (2 TB- as well as 3 TB, but that's another story). So is this other Western Digital 2 TB HDD performance is as good or better than my previous one.

Please read the model number, it's essential.

P.S. My current HDD runs hot and keep making tick n tock noises from day one (it has ran a total of 215 days and 11 hours till now).

Thank you.

I personally have better success with WD than Seagate, so I vouch for their effectiveness. In terms of performance, the Green drives are not as great as Blue or Black variants, but for just storage purposes and not used as a main drive, it's excellent.

Yes, but my question is about replacing one cheap drive to another. I am concerned about the Seagate's health, all i want to know, if the WD variants performance is comparably equal or not. It is for storage not performance.

And the noises i am talking about is like metal scratching against other metal surface, i believe that's not normal.

So just for constant copying and pasting 100 of Gb of data, which one will be better Seagate or Western Digital. Even better, is there some comparison chart or benchmark available of the two.

I just want to make sure that i may not end up low-grading my pc performance, comparatively, that's all.
