scanner for windows server 2012 or windows server 2012 essentials

I need a sheetfed scanner, documents only. Have been recommended to buy Fujitsu scansnap s1500, or its replacement ?ix500

will these work with a windows server 2012 (maybe even essentials) installation? i want all the files scaned to go to one shared folder on the server, nothing else really fancy needed (no scan to fax etc)

is there another product that will work better with a server, that is in a (very) small business price range? (ie <$1000)

The way I read that site the server admin software only supports the snapscan n1800 and fi series, all >$1500. I will contact them directly and clarify... I need something <750ish

So I called Fujitsu, they confirmed that snapscan ix500 does not work with a server installation (I guess this is because it doesn't have TWAIN?) However, they recommended the fi6230 which is about $900, so now I'm deciding between this one or the Kodak i2400.

I'm glad you got an answer regarding the software and sorry I didn't do a better job of looking at compatibility. I don't know enough about scanners to say which one is better. The only sheet fed scanner I have ever used was a Fujitsu and several years ago the one I used at work was between $400 - $500 but I don't remember which ScanSnap it was.
