Hi.
Im new, so sorry if i post this in a wrong spot. :)

I have a custom build with a MSI 990FXA-GD65 mobo. Everything in my build is about ½ years old and it worked just fine. For 5 days ago my screen was black when i returned to the computer (been away for ½ hour) and the computer couldnt respond. I thought it was my PSU (Corsair TX850M) so i bought a new one (TX850M). It still didnt work...
I tried with everything unhooked (Memory, fans, GFX, a.s.o.) No luck.
Then i pulled off the 8pin from PSU to mobo, and the computer started. Screen is not recieving any image, but everything is running (sounds and lights). When i turn off the computer, reconnect the 8pin and turn back on the computer - its dead. NOTHING happens (no sound nor lights)
Remove the 8pin and turn on the computer - its on again, but without image on screen.
Tried with a new GFX - no luck.
Tried to reset the CMOS - no luck.
Replaced the bios-battery with a new one - no luck.
Checked every cable 3 times - no luck.

Is my mobo faulty? Please help me anyone.

I have notised the CPU phase leds (when 8pin is unhooked) is on with 2 leds. With 8pin hooked in - 0 leds. Before all this - 8 leds.

My build:
MSI 990FXA-GD65
AMD FX-8350
Samsung 840 Evo
16GB kingston DDR3 memory
AMD radeon HD5850 1GB
Corsair TX850M PSU
Corsair H50 watercooling for CPU

Any help is much apriciated. :)

CPUs do not die as easily as mobos to be honest, very rare.

ALL mobos have at least a 3 year warranty, they are tracked with serial numbers by law in most countries and should be returnable for warranty where you purchased it or with MSI itself WITHOUT any paperwork beforehand.

ASUS. With Z87 chipset. Choose the model as per your budget and need. :)

Motherboard=mother of your pc

Then how you expect some bad board to work great with your great components like high profile CPU, RAM, SSD etc? :)

Nothing wrong with MSI at all.
Just do not go for their cheaper products, the GD65 board are very decent.

He has AMD, so Z87 does not apply.

WTF dude?
