AMD 7950s Crossfire - Second GPU acting funny

Hello guys,

First time here but have used the forums extensively for info gathering in the past. I have recently built a new rig and am currently running two 7950s in crossfire mode. Upon building and installation everything seemed to work fine with only one or two crashes (but they have not been reproducible).

A couple of days ago I installed the new AMD Catalyst 13.11 BETA drivers. I understand that there may be some inherent instability and or risk in doing so but I figured I'd give it a try (the fact they these drivers added a profile for Rome 2 really helped).

So, upon launching the game everything seemed pretty much the same, except for the fact that crossfire was now working with Rome. While i didn't notice any real improvement I did notice a somewhat concerning event. The fans in my rig started to spin quite quickly. Upon checking GPUz I noticed that my primary card had a 0% load and my secondary card was at 99%! Both sensors indicated that the temps of the GPU were about 65-70.

So, I guess I have a couple of questions.
1) Is this normal? I had never experience this before but to be fair this is the first time I am trying crossfire.
2) Is this damaging my cards? I don't like the idea of such a high load on one card, I feel as though it can cause a serious issue.
3) Is there anything I can do to fix this? Should I just go back to stable, non-beta drivers?

And yes, I do have the Crossfire Bridge installed.

Thanks for the speedy replies.

I know BETA drivers are untested and stable, I am aware of that. Just want to know if this is dangerous. The fact that I'm getting 99% load on my second card.

I can always roll back to more stable drivers
