the GPU requires a 500W minimum PSU however it uses 352W under load so two of these cards would use 704W of power under full load, all of your other components would add up to around 180 to 200, i would go with a 1000W PSU or more than that for the headroom of overclocking

what about with just one card
thanks

this chart represents power consumption at the wall, give 85% efficiency of a psu and actual power consumption is lower than this number. 280x is the same as a 7970 ghz, so a 750w quality psu would give room for these cards + overclocking and not run the psu near its limits.

i have a gigabyte 280x and im using a 650psu. it says on the box it requires 1x 8pin power 150w +1x 6pin power 75w. 225w total. now if you add it up depending on your componets and your settings

650 - 225x2 = 200w for psu and motherboard which should be just enough but its running a close line

i use a external docking station for the hd which saves a bit of power there

but you have to consider this. they test these components under optimal conditions which doesnt take into account dust and wear and tear on voltage regulators. so even though i could do 2 gpus on a 650 i dont think i would. i really good computer shop told me once that the psu is the heart of the computer not the cpu. a bad psu can make good components fail and running a psu to the limit can make it behave undesirably.

i would recommend you go with the higher psu if you have the budget for it
