Look at THIS for a graphic of what range each channel covers. The best use if you need more than one channel is to use the nonoverlapping channels of 1, 6, and 11. If you only need one channel use the one that has the least interference from other networks. You can use the free network channel analyzer from HERE to see what channels other nearby networks are using.
