So I recently built my own computer and plugged it into my router as a wired internet connection. I thought since its a wired connection it will be faster. Apparently not so, I was getting around 250 ping that would rise to 500 ping in game sometimes. It was extremely obnoxious. I then tried my wireless usb adapter and I got 69 ping and a better download speed. SO my main question is why the heck is my wireless internet better than my wired? Before I tried my wireless usb adapter I tried plugging it into my modem instead and for a little bit I got great internet in game but then after an hour or two it went back to just terrible. I mean, I can browse the web fine but in-game...it just sucks.
My router: Netgear N600 wireless dual band router
Modem: AT&T 7550 (Wessell)
Internet Provider: AT&T
