Graphics Card Driver Issues

With the graphics card i currently have which is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti I seem to be suffering from lag but only when playing certain games.

I can play Battlefield 3 on medium graphics settings fine and smooth like i can a few of my games but when i play a game such as Trackmania: Nations Forever it lags which it didnt with my previous much less powerful graphics card (GeForce 310). Ever since i have had the new graphics card installed i have suffered lag on certain games not constantly but it would change from smooth one second to stuttering really badly the next. Even when i put in the old graphics card iand use that it seems to have issues on the same games it previously ran fine.

Yesterday i finally decided to uninstall the drivers and reinstall and update them to see if it would help and it ran perfectly fine. Before i uninstalled them i made sure they were fully up to date
(327.23) so after reinstalling i assumed it was an issue with the previous drivers as i had already had a graphics card installed.

I switched my PC back on today and it's back to how it was before the reinstall, maybe a tiny bit less stuttery.

As i am now back to square one i am pretty lost in how to solve my issue and I'm hoping that someone else can shed some light on what my issue currently is.

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated

So for an update i think i have narrowed down the issue im having as i believe it is clashing with something C++ related as i always get an error come up and it reads as follows.

"Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Windows\system32\ATKFUSService.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."

This opens full-screen too and before you choose to display it it says it is related to C++.

Also I have looked at the details of ATKFUSService.exe and it says it is ASUS related which is the same as my graphics card.

I have a picture of this error message but i don't know how to post it here unfortunately so if anyone knows a way i can post that if it is any help.
