Hope someone can help me. I have DSL modem and DI-704UP rooter. Would like to hook up Linksys E2500, lan to lan connection. Use E2500 as wireless only.
Main router Lan setup is:
IP adrs 192.168.20.1
DHCP Enabled
Start IP 192.168.20.100
End IP 192.168.20.199

Was trying to setup E2500 in Bridge mode.
IP adrs 192.168.20.201
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.20.1

When put in bridge mode I also select manual to enter above items.

When I select save setting, bridge mode goes to Automatic configuration – DHCP. After it reboots I can no longer access E2500. Did a IPCONFIG and it shows no gateway adrs.

Note: I am just using a laptop and the E2500 to setup the E2500. It is not hooked to the DI-704UP Router.

Thanks
Joe

If you want to set a device as static in a router you need to enter the device's MAC address and the assigned IP address in the static device configuration page of your main router -- if you don't do that your device (the E2500 as an AP in this case) will not work as a static device.

To access the E2500 after changing the settings to make in act as an AP you should still be able to log into the E2500 by using 192.168.20.201 in your browser of an Ethernet attached computer.

Are you also giving the E2500 a static address in the main router by entering the E2500 MAC address and the 192.168.20.201 address in the router static table?

Mac address is to access internet as what I can make out. The DI-704up router accesses the dsl modem for internet connection. I just want to bridge/access point with the E2500 to the DI-704up for wireless connection. Lan connection between routers.
