Hi community, here is my problem:

Im sharing my internet with may neighbor, Im okay with that. Sometimes he is using youtube too much and the internet slow down a lot.

I want to block him sometimes but not forever. I want to block him when I need all the power of my internet and then when I finish, allow him again to connect.

I havent been able to access my router settings, my router is Thomsom TG 580. I tried all the ip adresses, I tried everything and I coulnt access to the settings so blocking his MAC address is not an option, I cant even change the password.

I want to buy a software similar to Cisco Network Magic, I dont care how much I have to pay, I just want full control of my network where I can limit people, block people and then restore it again.

I need a software please, Cisco Network Magic is not working for me, not even the trial and they stopped the support for that program.

Any suggestion?

did you try factory resetting it? it should default back to a 192.16.x.x address usually and you will most liekly need to manually change your ip on you network adapters to the correct network to hit it.

Once in there almost every router has QOS(quality of service) where you can set up different options to give you the higher priority and limit their bandwith.

here is what i found for your router once back to factory

TG580 DSL Default IP:
192.168.1.254
TG580 DSL Default Password:
blank
TG580 DSL Default Username:
blank

If you don't care about the cost you can get a router like this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833320115

Newer version:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833320174&Tpk=RT-AC68U

https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/RTAC68U

This give you a lot of control over your network.

Discrete and Secure Wi-Fi Networks via Guest Access

The RT-AC66U supports up to three wireless networks over the 2.4GHz band and three over the 5GHz band, so you can set up usage times and limit access with advanced controls, including parental settings.

What you trying to get hits to your youtube videos.

Netcut is the most stupid way to even think you can protect a network. Only a dummy that has no network knowledge would think it would work. It is dependent on a ARP poison attack that most software will detect.

It will not 100% block anything, it is trivial to bypass this and it can cause massive issue running this program on your network.

If I disable broadcasting ssid, my phone too does not shows the ssid. So is there any other way to block the users(random users) from accessing my wifi so that only I will be able to see and use the wifi, or the devices allowed by me.

for viewing, blocking and having an insider look on your network, I recommend who's on my wifi, it's free and useful with these tasks but, when it comes to controlling the distribution of bandwith, i'm looking in this one too so, keep looking on the last one ;)

Set the encryption for AES2 with with a strong password and keep it secret. No one will get on your wifi then. While you are at it, change the password to log into the router to a different strong password so no one can access the router to weaken your security.

Hi SmartAlley,
ll u can do is to Filter the Mac address of your neighbours device, to find the Mac Address, you can open the Windows Command Prompt nd type "ARP -A" to view the devices that has been connected to your router.

Once you copy the MAC address, go into Router Settings, This could be done by typing the Default Gateway Address on a web browser, go to LAN Settings, Filter, MAC Address Filter and Enter your Neighbours MAC Address and Save it.

If you think that if it takes more time to do, then simply Enable only your Device MAC Address, so that you would only have access to internet.

Hope this would be useful.
Have fun, cheers :)
