I bought this bare bone kit 2 years ago, it came with an overclock CPU 4ghz, i7 875k, Asus P55 mainboard.. When my uncle tried to mess with it, he reset the bios setting, and now all i have is regular 2.9 ghz. I don't know how to get it back to 4ghz. I've been look up OC and many other thread about this I7 875K, and still found no solution. Tried turbo mode, it gets up to 3.8 but it drop down mid game. Plz help your fellow PC owner!
It's this one: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/ite...
I also try to use OC profile in the Bios, my computer wont start unless i reset bios.

More about : 875k 4ghz

Hi,

If the overclock was originally set by Tigerdirect then you could ask them to provide the settings they used, if not then you'll have to learn how to overclock your CPU, there's plenty of information out there that should help you and increase your knowledge.

dah..look for miahallen..
Google miahallen 1156 or something like that :)
a)set vcore to 1.37v
b)set vtt to 1.3v
c)raise fsb until/if it starts being unstable
d)raise vcore,see if fix..if not..lower back down..raise vtt see if fix.
Oh..first you should drop your RAM divider.Like..if it's 1333..make it 1066..
edit:it's a K series..raise the multiplier and vcore to compensate..just set 1.37v for vcore..and move multiplier up til you get 4Ghz.
Later on you can lower the vcore and test if stable..to keep your CPU cooler.

Revert back to stock settings in the BIOS and make sure your cooler has been installed correctly and is working.

Sounds like either your cooler isnt making good contact. Remove it and clean off the paste, and re apply new thermal paste, then try and reinstall the cooler.

Make sure when you get a new cooler, you clean off all the old paste and apply new paste.
