I have a desktop with a Radeon 6870 video card and it has 1 HDMI output and 2 DVI (which I use a VGA to DVI converter for)

When I go HDMI to my TV (older vizio GV47LF) it goes full 1920x1080 but when I use the DVI/VGA converted it maxes out at 1360x768

Since the card only has 1 HDMI output - what are my options for getting full resolution on 2 monitors at once?

My TV only has HDMI/VGA and the card has

1 x Dual-Link DVI
1 x HDMI 1.4a
2 x Mini-DisplayPort
1 x Single-Link DVI-D

Solution
It looks like the mini display port on the 6870 does carry audio so you should be good if you went that route.

This is directly from AMDs website on the 6870
Cutting-edge integrated display support

Oh forgot to mention, when I tried to do that. The monitor (only has VGA no DVI) gives me this really weird hard to explain blurryness no matter the resolution. its like you can see the mouse pointer then a light blurry outline of the mouse pointer (and on other objects) - I really dont understand that at all.

In re: to DVI to HDMI converter, this does not transmit audio correct? Right now I am using the TVs speakers as my computer speakers through an audio input on the VGA input.

Is there a way to get all of this working with audio on the TV?

Ok I think I am a bit confused, if the second monitor is VGA only you should be able to connect your computer to TV with HDMI to HDMI and avoid touching DVI altogether. Or you could do mini display port to HDMI.

Are you saying that your second monitor has never worked correctly then?

Ok right now I am on VGA IN on the TV with audio out going into the TV (to use TV speakers as main speakers)

On monitor I am using my lone HDMI output on my video card because when I use the VGA input of the monitor I get blurry resolution.

Can these DVI to HDMI converters or Mini-Display to HDMI converters carry sound with them? I have the AMD Radeon 6870 not sure if it is possible but that would pretty much solve the problem.

Ok so I got a mini displayport to hdmi adapter and that works and gives me audio out to my tv (perfect)

However, when I try and go into my max resolution I get these black borders throughout the top and side on my TV. My TV doesnt seem to have a vertical/horizontal adjuster for hdmi so is there a way around this? I'm very close to being just how I want but don't know how to fix this

edit: Ok so looks like I was able to scale it through my video card settings, Think I'm all good thanks for the help!
