-i7s dont make a difference in games. by the time it does, you are playing medium settings and 5 fps is irrelevant then
-you will need better coolers for haswell
-not a scam motherboard. no benefit from going asus other than software you use once
-16gb of ram for gaming is stupid. games never use more than 2gb
-fast ram is useless. makes zero difference in gaming or anything else
-cheaper SSD per gb. performs a lot better as well
-no benefit from using the black drive
-get a r9 280x at the very least if you can wait, a r9 290x is a better option
-for a 7950 CF, the 750w unit is enough but you will want a better unit for the same price provided by xfx
-windows 7

Looks pretty good to me, personally I would go with a single card as AMD especially (and NVidia, experienced it myself w/ 2 670's, just seems to be less common of an issue with AMD drivers right now) can run into issues with Microstuttering. Also, if you wanted to trim a few bucks DDR3-2133 isn't going to give you much of an advantage over DDR3-1600. I was gonna say go from i7 to i5, but it does appear some of the newer games require/support multiple threads at certain settings. Only do that if you need to trim some bucks, good MOBO choice btw, I have the Z77 model. Make sure you install the damn WiFi Go! module before you install your MOBO lol, personal experience.

If you insist on going with Crossfire, be sure to use the latest Beta driver. M-S will be greatly reduced. I tried it with 2 x HD 7870 and was pleasantly surprised. It was almost as stutter-free as my 2 x GTX 660s.

Also, be sure to follow a good tutorial for installing Windows to a SSD. There are a few peculiarities that can drag down performance if you don't follow the guide lines: http://www.computing.net/howtos/show/solid-state-drive-ssd-tweaks-for-windows-7/552.html

First of all, if you plan on overclocking, you need a bigger supply.

Second, yes, the 4770K is for future/new games. It is just starting to make sense.

Third, 16GB is needed. I believe the latest games are kissing 10GB of RAM now.

Frankly, the 7950/70 cards simply were noisy and hot. Like others said, you probably want the R9 280X card.

As you can see for $300 or under a much more powerful card. And it runs cool and silent.

In fact, you probably would be much happier with two R9 280X's and a 4670K for the same amount of cash.

I'd get a 850W supply for going CF, 1000W if you really want to overclock the two cards and the processor.

Send me a link to a fully released game which *does* not *can* actually use 10gb RAM.

You do not need 1000w at all. 850w WITH overclocking will be perfectly fine. 2 r9 280x's will use 480w MAX load.

480w FULL load for GPU
+
84w FULL LOAD for CPU
+
30w (HDD,fans,DVD, drive, etc.)
=
594w. Plenty of room for overclocking with an 850w PSU. Actually 850w Would be the MAX I would go with.

-change the motherboard. there is literally no reason to go asus. it doesnt perform better, you arent going to use the software more than once after setup, and for sure you arent running more than 6 drives

if you already have a 7950, keep it

-the psu that you picked out is the exact same as the xfx 850w internally. why pay more
-windows 7 is cheaper and a better OS in my opinion. if you dont mind learning the stupid metro UI thing, go ahead with windows 8

With regards to the PSY, I am trying to use only amazon. Is there another mobo you would recommend? I read reviews of the mobo you suggested causing some users headaches. I also leaned towards ASUS because I have used their mobos in several builds prior and I have never had an issue. I am open to another mobo. Its just the one you suggested doesn't seem as well regarded. That being said, I am sure you know a LOT more than me with regards to all this.

use ncix. price matches everything and free shipping at the same time. you can try using only amazon, but you are going to spend at least 150 dollars extra

no. all the other motherboards are literally going to be the same. do not base buying decisions on reviews.

+1 on the motherboard issue. My dad uses a CHEAP $45 motherboard from 3 years ago in his build. His build includes:
-fx-8320
-16gb RAM
-gtx580 (free from his work)
-4 HDDs

He kept the motherboard from his old build (965be, 8gb Ram, gtx460), and says there is no point to waste money on something that will give him no performance increase at all.

The motherboard will not change performance AT ALL.
