I am trying to get my cpu to a stable 4.5ghz.

Firstly, does anyone see any bottle necks or problems with this set up?

When i have tried to overclock previously i seem to get a 4.2ghz stable oc using programs on windows. BUT when i move that over to the BIOS everything just goes to shit.

On this processor should i focus more on the multiplier or the Bus Speed?

Also when I get into stress testing i always end up failing fast on only one core then another fails slightly after. Is this a defect or am i just doing something wrong?

Please tell me any relevant information to help... this is my first build from scratch.
If anyone is willing to help me via skype or other means i would greatly appreciate it.

Hi,

To answer your first question, no I don't think there will be a bottleneck with your system.

I'd highly recommend reading an overclocking guide for your CPU, then having another go at overclocking in the BIOS. Check out this guide: http://rog.asus.com/81732012/crosshair-motherboards/crosshair-v-formula-amd-fx-8150-cpu-overclocking-guide/2/

They use a different board but the settings will be the same or very similar. Let us know how you get on.
