I have a laptop drive from Samsung i7 series with win 7 professional. I now have an HP envy m6 with win 8 preinstalled. I want to run win 7 OS and all my apps in the new laptop. When I replaced the new hdd with my win 7, it said "no bootable partition.. " or something like that. When I look at the c: partition with disk partition manager it says primary, active but doesn't say boot. There are couple of other small partitions on the drive, one like 100mb or so and another recovery 23gb and my data partition.
How do I make this win7 (bootable partition in Samsung) bootable in HP?

That won't work for a number of reasons:

1. The OS on the laptop drive is almost certainly an OEM, and will not activate on the new hardware
2. The hardware difference between the Hp and the Samsung is sufficiently different to cause it to not work.
3. The applications existing on the Samsung drive will not run properly, if at all, in the other OS. It does not know anything about them.

There are other problems.

Suggestion:
Reinstall whatever applications you need on the new machine.
