It should be said I am a newb. I took out my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 from said computer and I am trying to replace it with Sapphire HD 7590. So far when I plug it in to my samsung lcd tv using my DVI to HDMI, I dont get a picture. Any ideas?

I did I used the Program and features to uninstall some, then Driver sweeper to clear the rest. After that I went into programs and deleted everything that said nvidia. then I ran CCleaner through the registry. Then After all that I shut down and unplugged everything and tried to replace the video card. After I booted, I got a black screen

Do you have a different monitor you could try your system out on? Sounds silly...but did you ensure you have the proper drivers downloaded for your new ATI card as well as checked compatibility with your motherboard? Check that the graphics card is properly seated in the PCI slot as well as in a supporting PCI slot. It can't be stressed enough to read the motherboard manual back to front, as well as fully understand it's layout and compatibility. Good luck!

I hope not. I will try again and see what happens. I just got this brand new from newegg about 2 hours ago. I was just hopping I was doing something wrong.

No I was told earlier that once i did all the previous stuff and swapped out the cards, my computer would boot then I would install the drivers from the CD. When I try to install them before it doesn't work.

I am in the process of trying to install the gtx 560 drivers again, then delete them completely. I am trying to install the new driver from the CD that came with the 7950 and I am getting this error:

Yea thats what I did. I am going to try and uninstall everything again. I figured it was still trying to load the nvidia files even though they are gone. I dont know if i can go in to the bios and reset everything, especially if i try it with the new card when I cant get a picture. UGH FRUSTRATING!

Are you using your television as your monitor? I don't believe your new card will support a DVI to HDMI connection until your drivers are installed at least. That's why I suggested another monitor.

UPDATE: I returned the card and got my new one today AND....IT STILL WONT WORK!!! I tried uninstallng from device manager, then restarting into safe mode. Used driver sweeper to clean out all the nvidia files. Then I switched out the cards. STILL NOTHING.

After this I tried updating my BIOS and tried the same process above once more. Nothing Nothing Nothing. I tried using a HDMI to HDMI = Nothing. I am completly lost and am just thinking about saying screw this I will just buy the Nvidia 760! Unless anyone has any other ideas. I am out I am tired of working on it.
