WD hard drive

hi there I have a problem with my WD hard drive I purchased 1month ago. when I connect it to my pc it makes a clicking noise. And then my computer cannot recognize it which mean I cant access into my files on the hard drive. it has a lot of important files. please help :)

Clicking noise usually means a drive about to die. Although in your case it might already have died. A hard drive will usually last for years ( 10 or more ) if it does not die in the first few months. Those first few months are when a drive is most likely to die.

Don't even try to connect it again until you have somewhere else to backup your important files. Then if you can get into the drive back up what you need as soon as you can.

yes its an external hard drive. its a WD passport
