Hey everyone, THIS IS A LONG POST AS YOU CAN SEE SO BE READY I just got a new MSI GS70 laptop and so far I'm loving it, but there seems to be a small issue. Now, I'm not sure if this is just common in all laptops, but my CPU is a 4700HQ and the clock speeds seem very erratic. One moment it'll be at 2.4 GHZ, then it'll drop all the way down .8 GHZ and then back up to 1.2 GHZ. I mean, the specs of the thing are 2.4 GHZ and a boost up to 3.4 or something similar... Is there a problem with my CPU? Heat is a tad issue,as the GS 70 is known for heat problems, which i clearly see as my temps can go up to 75 to 80 degrees Celsius when I'm not even really doing anything. Is there anything wrong with my CPU?

Ok well it could be a combination of 2 things. Intel Turbo Boost with dynamically lower and raise clock speeds depending on the situation, which might be part of the issue here. The bigger thing which is what I feel is having 80C idle temperatures, look into a laptop cooler if you can fit one into your budget or just be cheap and improve airflow to the laptop by elevating it with a bottle cap on each corner (for an added boost put a deskfan or a USB powered fan near the back and have it pushing cold air from behind the laptop towards the front) and check if that lowers your temperatures. If that does not work then I would suggest use your warranty and RMA the laptop.
