My CPU is E7500, 2.93 Ghz, 3 GB Ram.
Not sure about the Wattage of PS.
I want to buy a Graphics Card.
Budget: Rs.5 to 6 K.
My monitor - ACER G195 HQ has only VGA-IN

Please suggest me a suitable graphics card.
Please also suggest a GC with HDMI Out, for future proof with its price. I will be thankful if you explain me, changes required in BIOS settings for disabling onboard graphics. My email: gemtranslators@gmail.com

Thanking you

Hi,

Firstly, regarding the 'disabling on-board graphics', usually when you install a graphics card in a system, it automatically disables the on-board gpu outputs on the motherboard. For some reason if they are not disabled automatically, there is nothing to worry about. You can still connect your VGA/HDMI cable to your graphics card's output, as long as you have the latest drivers, and it won't use on-board graphics. Therefore, don't worry about BIOS settings and all that because it isn't really a problem.

In terms of a graphics card, please could you specify the USE of your system??? i.e gaming, editing, light use etc.... Nevertheless, I would recommend the XFX Radeon 7750 2GB card. It is quite easy on power consumption and also...

In terms of a graphics card, please could you specify the USE of your system??? i.e gaming, editing, light use etc.... Nevertheless, I would recommend the XFX Radeon 7750 2GB card. It is quite easy on power consumption and also is a good all-round low budget card. It features 2x DVI, 1x VGA and 1X HDMI ports. It can be used for some gaming and will be able to run most current gen games at medium-high settings no prob. Also, it has 2GB GDDR5 memory so it can keep up with most demands. In the UK this card costs about £65, which should fit in your budget. http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-Radeon-7750-GDDR3-Graphics/dp/B009PV38T0/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1382006999&sr=8-7&keywords=hd+7750. There is also a 1GB version that is slightly cheaper.

Hope this helps!!

Hi Dude,

Thank you for your reply which is very informative. I use my PC for translation, browsing the net and playing some games like Need For Speed games in Safe Mode (only during Sundays & holidays). I intend buying the graphics card for my son, who wants to play Grand Theft Auto Vice City and some latest Car and Truck Racing games.

Would the Graphics Card recommended by you, meet this requirement. And, also, please let me know whether i need to change my PSU for this GC? (not sure of the Wattage of mine).

Hi again,

The 7750 would be able to meet these requirements EASILY!! This are very light tasks that you mention and for this I am surprised why on board graphics arent good enough. But if you really want a gpu you can even consider a slightly lower end card such as the Radeon 6670. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Radeon-Graphics-PCI-Express-GDDR5-Dust-proof/dp/B004XANO24/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382017624&sr=8-1&keywords=hd+6670

As for the power supply, unfortunately I cannot tell you if you need to change unless I know the details like wattage, efficiency, brand etc.....

hope this helps!!
