As above I'm getting this message & want to install Windows 7 on the new HDD or SSD I have.

So what happened was this..............
I buy a new 90gb SSD & install it in to the PC (spec below)
I then install the Windows 7 disc & get the message "press any key to boot from CD/DVD" Good as planed :)
It then starts loading for around 2 minutes & then I get a message about the files being corrupt :-(
So being stupid I then go & buy another brand new HDD (WD 250gb) and try the same approach.I then get the same message & so looking at the disc that's been used a few times in the past, has some small (very light) scratches on it.
I then get a loan of a friends windows 7 disc & want to try this on the new SSD & HDD,but every time I turn on the PC I get the "Bootmrg missing press Ctrl+Alt+Delete"
I can get in to BIOS,but not sure what I can do in BIOS.
I have the boot sequence correct in BIOS to boot from the DVD drive & it recognises the HDD & SSD.
Looking on google I could not find a solution & so using my own loaf,I thought trying to format the HDD on an old PC I have stuck in a cupboard for well over a year.So I use my external HDD case & insert the new HDD to it & hook it up to the old PC & the format was successful.
Now when I install the HDD in to the gaming PC I now get the "NTLDR-is-missing-press-ctrl-alt-del-to-restart"
Looking on google this can happen on Windows 7,but it's more likely to be on XP.
My old PC was XP & so this maybe the reason I'm now getting this message :-/

Any help would be more than welcome...............

In BIOS where do I select AHCI ?
The HDD & also the SSD are both brand new & both reported a file error within 2 minutes of me installing windows 7 ultimate on the PC.
As the Disc had scratches on it,I'm guessing this is why the install of windows 7 failed.
I have BIOS boot sequence setup correctly with DVD/CD drive as first boot priority.

UPDATE:Read about AHCI & it was already set in BIOS.
