hi all! i was wondering if it's a bad idea to use the bios update using ai suite 2 through the internet? it seems easier than doing the usb method but i don't want to try if it's a bad idea! i have a sabertooth z77 running stock bios and it's giving me random voltage warnings that don't seem to be accurate. any tips on the best quickest and safest update method are appreciated!

1) USe a FAT32 formatted flash drive, download the latest UEFI version for your board and uncompress it onto the drive. Go into UEFI, and use the EZ Flash two application to update UEFI - point the app to the file and follwo the prompts. It's pretty simple if you follow that method.

2) CPU-Z, AIDA, Hwinfo32, GPU-Z all poll for voltages. If you have anything like that on the system, then it may cause polling errors with AI Suite. Make sure you are using the latest Ai Suite version also - check the support page for your board, and if there is a newer version use that. Be sure to update UFI if you do that as the AI suite builds and UEFI go hand in hand.

1) Via UEFI or USB BIOS flashback is considered safer than OS level flashing.

2) Voltage warnings from AI SUite are usually caused when more than one monitoring app is running at the same time. It's due to the super IO IC on the board being polled simultaneously which causes misreported values. The fix is not to run more than one voltage polling tool. :)

hey thanks for the reply! is there an easy way to see what's also monitoring voltage? i personally don't have anything else installed for that but of course there could be something else. is there a good place to look for instructions on a bios update? i've looked at the manual but got a bit lost and really don't want to screw it up! thanks again!

ok that now makes more sense since i have multiple hardware monitors including cpu-z. i'll check the site for other updates thanks again for the help! oh and the sabertooth board is amazing as is my 7970 dc2!
