crossfire r9 280x or Single R9 290x

I really like this msi 280x
I have a 2560x1440p monitor and I will be playing mostly battlefield 4

I like the idea of the r9 290x free battlefield 4 4gb of vram

But for about the same price I can get 2 r9 280x

with the R9 290x u got a 512 bit bus and can upgrade it further later. go with the higher

But I thought based on the Pictures and the coverage from the Hawaii AMD event, the R9 290X Cannot be crossfired.

I'd wait for official reviews and benchmarks of the 290X before making a decision if I were you.

Two R9 280x' will be better than a R9 290x. Two mid-range cards are most of the time just as good as a high-end card, however the R9 280x is a high-end card. I can't say for sure, but if you google some R9 280x crossfire frame rates (guessing that the R9 290x is barely better than a GTX 780) and see if it's better than the GTX 780. What you'll get from that is probably what i just told you.
