gpu upgrade problem?

hi i got a second hand sapphire 6950 to upgrade my old 4890 on a am3 gaming rig. when installing the video card one of the copper heat pipes was touching to the mother board heat sink will this cause any problems ? can i just wrap the heat pipe with electrical tape?

The electrical tape will melt in no time causing further trouble.
And what do you mean by:

I don't think there is a harm in it as long as there is sufficient cooling in the case. Other wise one of your component may be damaged.
