I'll try to give as much info as i can so it will be easier to determine the problem.
My problem is that when i try to overclock my CPU it resets back to default clock settings after a reboot.
I started by just changing the multiplier from x33 to x39 in BIOS and left the rest of the clock settings at default. After i saved and booted into windows it was running fine at 3.9GHz for the 10 or so hours i had my computer running. Once i shut down and woke up the next morning and booted up my motherboard detected "a problem with the overclock settings" and will restore to the default clock settings.
My CPU is a i5 2500k , i have a 700w power supply and my motherboard is this one http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4015#ov
It is running BIOS version FB, 2 versions behind.... I DO NOT WANT TO FLASH BIOS IF UNNECESSARY. I want to determine if there is another problem causing this before flashing bios.
I am trying to be as patient as i can, so please leave helpful honest answers. Thank you!

Have you tried raising your Vcore voltage yet? It may help. Try 1.250 v.
