Are mothballs safe for the inside of a computer?

I bought some old fashioned mothballs that are made from this white ball that you can crush into powder because the place I just moved into is infested with cockroaches. I am looking for a new place to stay, but for now I need to protect my computer. Will these mothballs be safe to stay inside of my tower? I know a lot of people recommend it for roach problems, but I want to know if there are any side effects from having them in there.

Roaches love heat and electronics. I've had my shop sprayed a few times because people have brought in PC's or XBoxes that have roaches in them when I open them. I've never heard of using mothballs, not sure how effective they would be. The best stuff is the powder stuff you get. I'd get some of that and put some inside a small dish inside your PC and around the tower edge. They love to crawl up into the PSU and hide and lay eggs, so you can look inside the case, all looks good and have dozens inside your PSU that you move with.

I don't know whether or not mothballs are effective against roaches. They might be, I have never tried them. Borax powder is better for crawling insects, mothballs act by sublimation.
That being said, they should be safe inside the tower as long as they don't turn into dust that clogs up your fans/heatsink. Also, keep anything off the motherboard and it should be fine. Placing them in a cloth pouch at the bottom of the tower should be OK.
