You've read the title and I know the answer is: HD7950 Wins BUT...

I was taking a look at my local webshop and I then saw this: (It's Dutch so please translate the site to English)

HD 7870: HD7870 - CD-ROM-LAND

HD 7950: HD7950 - CD-ROM-LAND

And the 7950 is 5 Euro cheaper than the HD 7870, how's that possible?

I noticed the HD7950 has a memory speed of 1250Mhz while the HD 7870 has 4800Mhz...

I wonder if that means the HD7950 performs much worse than the HD7870. Other 7950 cards on that site are 230+ Euro while this card is only 185 Euro.

Thanks for anyone answering, I'm really curious about this :p

Solution
Go with the 7950, it's a no brainer.

As for the memory speeds, the 7870 is listed with effective clock where as the 7950 is listed with the base clock (not sure if that is the correct term? lol). The effective mem clock of the 7950 is 5000mhz (1250 x 4).

higher quality component from msi make it more durable and also more pricier than club3d.
you can push msi card so high, adding more voltage to gpu etc, meanwhile club3d can run not so far from the stock clock..

but, no matter how hard you try to push 7870, it'll not touch the speed of 7950.

get the 7950 if you want pure speed..

the the 7950..

Thanks guys, I think you're right ShadyHamster since I looked up some other sites which also show the specs and they also said the effective memory clock is 5000Mhz. I'm going with the HD7870 though, I've got a weird feeling it's a better idea.

( If I could choose multiple best answers I would've but I can only choose one :( Sorry Quaddro!) Thanks for the info again, both!
