LGA 1155 vs S1155

I was looking at 2 different motherboards, and I came across something I'm not quite sure about. the first motherboard is the Asus SABERTOOTH P67 REV 3.0 LGA1155 Intel P67 DDR3 ATX (B3 Stepping) and the second is Asus MAXIMUS V FORMULA/AC3 S1155 Intel Z77 DDR3 ATX.

My main question would be, what is the difference between the LGA1155 and the S1155 processor slots?

As far as the rest of the details, I know the Maximus uses a new Z77 chipset, is there anything else I might be missing in the comparison?

LGA1155=S1155.

I wouldn't go for either; they're both way overkill unless you're a very serious OCer or running lot's of GPUs.

What would you recommend for a good single GPU motherboard?

My current is a ASUS P8H67-M PRO/CSM (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel H67 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard which is discontinued pretty much everywhere. I've been using it for a good 2 years now and if I would have realized it was Micro ATX at the time, I probably wouldn't have bought it. I would like to have room for extras, whether it be dual gpu, a sound card, or whatever.

I do consider myself a gamer, my current set up is I5-2500k, OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W, 16gb Corsair ddr3 1333, gtx 550 ti.

No real need for a new board, unless you want to OC. Sound cards are overrated, and you can stick one PCIe card in that board with a dual-slot GPU.

I'd get a new GPU instead - the 550Ti is kind of old and midrange. You'll notice far more difference from that than anything else.
