Hey guys I am currently running a medium pC spec.
Amd Phenom II 965
8Gb DDr 3 Corsair Vengeance 1600
Assrock motherboard 880GHX
Gtx 760 OC *asus* (just upgraded this from gtx 460 )
500 or 550W power supply
The next step I want to take is to upgrade my motherboard and CPU after. I wanted to get the Asus Sabertooth R2, but Newegg does not have it on stock anymore. I decided to go for ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s. After the motherboard upgrade, I will spend my upcoming paycheck on an AMD FX 8350. Question is : Do i need to prioritize power supply upgrade or anything else before I buy these components. Wanted to place an order for the mobo today and wait for the processor. I'm not sure about my current AMD Phenom 2 fitting the new motherboard until i get the new CPU.Not sure about the Power supply either. This is where I need your help and advice to guide me trough prioritizing the purchases and the compatibility.
When I will get the processor i would also like to get a CPU cooler that will fit the Mobo sockets. Any suggestions are welcomed. I have a Zalman CPU cooler now, but i dont know the series number
