Recently my old GPU (Asus en210) died, so I am now running a integrated gpu Intel GMA 3100. When i was planning to upgrade my GPU, I look for my PCIe x16 slot version so i downloaded GPU Z. But in GPU Z, the bus interface shows only PCI. I wondered that my PCIE is also now defective.

While the PC is running, I connect a small chassis fan to the PSU peripheral, then a saw a small spark on the video card near the pcie slot (this is when i decided that the gpu is dead), then the pc shuts off. Then im running now with the integrated video card. I know its my terrible mistake that i connected the fan when the PC is on, and now im afraid my pci e slot isnt working.

EDIT:
Btw, my other pc relevant specs:
ASUS P5KPL-AM Mobo
Intel dual core e5200 3.1ghz OCed CPU
4gb ddr2 RAM.

Just try it by putting a card in that slot. You can get one from your friend, can't you? I think your PCI-E is 2.0 and it should work.

Yes your board has one PCIe x16 slot.
And it will only work when you stick the Graphics card on the slot.

Well, since you've said that you doubt if the slot would work for you saw some sparks out of it,you'd best confirm its working, using a GPU. Try to get a GPU from one of your friends, and check it on your PCI-E slot. That should confirm things. :)
