I'm planning to buy one in the near future for rendering.

It is all relative and dependent on the performance of the new AMD R9-290X. If the so called "Titan Killer" can do the job effectively and beat the Titan, considering AMD's plan to price it lower than the Titan, Nvidia will have no option but to decrease the price to remain competitive.

However, with that said, the Titan is a true 'One off' card, and the biggest price decreases will likely be seen on the 780 and 770s. Also, with rumors going on about the 780Ti, it may be worth it to see what that's like.

(From PC Tech): "NVIDIA is planning to slash prices off of their flagship graphic cards which include the might GeForce GTX Titan, GeForce GTX 780 and the GeForce GTX 770. AMD recently announced their latest Radeon R9 and Radeon R7 graphic cards at competitive price ranges which is a main reason behind the price cut from the green team."

Wait it out for a few days, and see what information we get from Nvidia.

Best Regards
Luke

They're probably going to make the GTX 780 Ti perform as well as the Titan in games (maybe even a little better via higher clocks) while costing less. The Titan is more of a limited-edition thing, and has more compute performance (which they may turn off in the 780 Ti for product differentiation).

BTW, Nvidia has confirmed the 780 Ti, they just haven't said anything about its specs or price.
