GTX 660 SLI or R9 280x?

I am planning on upgrading my system in order to run next-gen games more smoothly. My current specs are:
-i5-3470 @3.2Ghx
-GTX 660 2GB
-8GB RAM
-500w PSU (Will upgrade to 650w)

So, is it better to get another 660 and SLI them, or get an R9-280x and sell my GTX 660?

To be honest GTX 660 should still run them pretty well, I just bought one myself and im quite satisfied with it. most games run on ultra 1080p and really there is not much difference between ultra and high settings in BF4 if I would be you I would wait until the new year or bit after that until the prices drops on video cards and then buy it if you would want to.
