Hi guys,

I am having problems running a few games at max (Tomb raider) or acceptable(Final fantasy 14 ARR) levels.

For Tomb raider, when i run in ultimate mode, the game is barely playable low FPS.
Can't even get past simple events but easily gotten thru lowering settings by 1 level.

For FF14, i get constant crash, booted to windows.

Running my display in Portrait mode x5, with resolution 5400 by 1080.

Here are my specs(Not sure if any other info is needed):

Windows 7
Dell U2913WM x 5
Intel i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50 Ghz
32 GB RAM
MSI HD 7990 x 2 (have tried AMD drivers 13.9, 13.10beta2, 13.11beta)
Asrock z87 Extreme 6

Not sure if that is even possible, hopefully gurus can enlighten me here if its possible or what i need to do. Thanks

Meaning I will get better performance with only 1 x 7990?

Currently still reading the thread you posted.
I was using Nvidia, but they would only support up to 3+1 monitors. and i would need connection up to 5 screens, hence i was told am left with no choice but AMD =X

Yeah I never knew you can crossfire them to be honest. It's not even on amd's crossfire comparability list. I wonder if the new R290x would have full xfire compatability since they don't even need a link. I personally still think it's because of not enough pcie lanes.

That is wrong, the two GPUs in the 7990 communicate with each other across the board, they do not go through the PCIe lanes. So when you connect 2 in crossfire, you are not bottlenecked by PCIe 3.0 x8.

Is this problem recent or has it been occurring for a while? Try and think about exactly what you did before the issue started. It could be something as simple as a corrupt driver or one of your cards could have failed and needs to be RMA'd.

WarWolverineWarrior: The 7990 is a variant of the 7970. As for the review you posted, that was from almost a year ago, before the 7990 was released by AMD (that was a custom board produced by a vendor) and well before they addressed any driver issues.

The only real issue now is heat. If you lived in a cold climate, had absurdly good airflow, or watercooled them, you would have no issues.

This. /thread

Quadfire is junk. You'd be better off just selling one of your 7990s.

Think i am just going to do that. Will prolly do it tomorrow. And just stay with 1x 7990. Friends are recommending me to go water cooling.

Just don't understand why is that so, is it a software issue from AMD? or just games out there couldn't suppose Quadfire?

PS: My 7990 is running at 99degrees, fan speed set at 100%
