I have a Dell Inspiron 660 and want to overclock the cpu from 3.00 Ghz to 3.45 Ghz but my bios won't allow me since its a Dell computer. Would I be able to overclock the cpu if I update my bios from A09 to A10 or should I use a program to do it? If you recommend me using a program, then tell me what the program is and also tell me how to overclock using the program please. Thank you

Solution
he BiOS is locked to prevent that. If you want to OC it, then you might pay a visit to the Forus at www.bios-mods.com . They may have already unlocked one.

How do you find out which one is the right one for your computer?

Open your BiOS and it should have the BiOS version listed. Get that then go to the forums and do a search and see if it has been unlocked. If it has, then all you have to do is follow the instructions and you should have an unloked BiOS when you are done. The one downside would be the CPU cooling as that could ecome an issue. Not only with the cooler, but also with the restricted air flow in there.

I found my bios version (A09) but I don't know where to search it in the page. Its really troubling me. Can you please just search it for me and tell me if they have it unlocked? If it is can you send me the link to the page? I would really appreciate that.

So what you're saying is that I can't install a modded bios on my system?
