WD usb3 hard disk working well for over a month then excel says file not saved. the folders on the disk are clear but apparently empty. Device driver reports all fine. properties show the 2tb drive is half full, as expected.
I had a similar result with a 1tb toshiba drive also usb3 last year. In a different pc, the files show up, when used on this pc, only folders no files are shown. If I put the toshiba back on the pc it works with, the files are still there and all ok. Both pcs use windows 7 32bit. I suspect my pc is the problem with its usb3 system, but it was ok until today and no updates today. The toshiba forum had a similar post but no solutions. My PC is an asus motherboard , 2 years old.
