HD 6850 Drivers not installing / not showing my video card in device manager

So longest title NA....

I just put together my first computer the other day and I used some parts from a friend (motherboard, CPU, GPU, OS). He didn't have the disks with the drivers on them for the mobo or the GPU but we found where can can download them. We installed the mobo drivers alright but whenever I try to install the drivers for my HD 6580 the installation fails for some reason and the only display driver my computer recognizes is my Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. I was wondering what might be causing this problem and how to solve it. I can't play most Steam games, emulators, or LoL because of it. Thanks in advance for any help on this topic. :3

Parts I got from him:
Mobo: ASUSTeK Computer INC. M4A89GTD-PRO/USB3 Rev 1.xx
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T (Stock at 3.2GHZ)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6850

I am only running 32 bit win7 at the moment as a heads up

  1. Did you make sure you installed the right drivers online? Simple thing but sometimes can mess up.

Also did you make sure you have your card working correctly?

Sometimes the simple things cause the problems.
