When my Xbox is connected directly to my modem, I get open NAT, everything is perfect. When my Xbox is connected to my modem through my router, I get strict/moderate NAT, shit hits the fan. My router supports upnp but for some reason that doesn't help at all. I tried to manually forward ports on my router but I may have guffed that up. I will post some pictures if any of you think it could be of assistance.

yes that does sound about right, whichever class of network your computer is via your router and DHCP will be the same class to use for the router. So for example let's say 192.168.1.1 is your router 192.168.1.2 is your xbox 192.168.1.3-254 is any other available DHCP address pool available to any other devices you may connect.

just do ensure you are running the xbox live in a static IP address/manual instead of dhcp/auto, as more devices may or may not be added/removed it would be possible for the router/dhcp server to give you something besides the 192.168.1.2 it has and then the port forward would not work.

Sorry I am kind of new to the forum helping and sometimes I can be a bit all over the shot :p I hope I have enough response to...

Hey buddy! sorry to hear about your journey so far here is a link to portforward which will assist you first of all asking by what router you have and then giving you pictured guides on how to set port forwarding up correctly for that router. If you require any other assistance let us know. Good luck

First thing I did was go to portforward.com and look up my router.

If you look at the last picture at the bottom I did exactly that except I put my xbox's IP, is that not the IP I was suppose to put?

yeah you would need to setup teh xbox to use a static IP address and then enter that IP address into the portforward on the router, the static IP address should be in the same network class already being used by the router. Eg 192.168.1.10 or 192.168.0.10 are class C and would always start with the same 3 octets (192.168.1.xxx, 192.168.0.xxx)

So basically I did the correct thing... My xbox was 192.168.1.2, so I put that in the Server IP Address section in that picture I was referring to in my last post.
