So i am overclocking my i7 3770k
Just got some very basic questions on overclocking and making sure if i understand correctly.

oc cpu bit by bit on stock voltages untill it starts crashing. Not touching voltages shouldnt effect my temps that much? If for example it starts crashing then start increasing voltages and start at maybe 1.2v.

But question i have, if you start to increase voltages would that bump temp up higher? Or more voltage means more power but less stress on cpu there for less heat?

I oced mine to 4ghz but turbo mode to 4.5ghz. I left my voltage at 1.11 and im stressing my cpu with prim95. Its been around an hour and my highest temps are @ 66'c but it mostly sits on 60'c for all cores

Solution
More voltage is more heat, always. Higher clock is the same but to a lesser effect. (Also depends on voltage). Those temps are good btw. Also, what are you aiming to reach? What is your cooler? What are you monitoring temps with?

I am aiming at 4.5 and hoping its safe and stable. I wouldn't go any higher, although I by accident tried 4.5 and turbo pushed it to 5ghz. Tested that for 10 mins got to 68 then stopped and put 4ghz and turbo @ 4.5.
I am using a cooler master v4 gt. And using cpuid hwmonitor.

So if my CPU will get to hot at stock voltages then I need a better cooler. ?
