I have always thought of going with the 4770k, but now I am swaying a little bit after watching jaystwocents' video on his custom build water cooled computer. (Newest one) I know the 4770k has a lower TDP and should be better suited for the future. Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

I would go with the newer platform (4th gen = LGA 1150) assuming you don't already have a motherboard.

However, I would ultimately get whichever one I could get a better deal on. If you can save a considerable amount on the 3rd gen + mobo combo then I would do that.

Well it depends on what you care about. 4770k uses less power and is slightly faster (but not by much at all). The thing is it is harder to cool and thus harder to overclock. I've heard you can still get to 4.2-4.3GHz easily though; it's just those 4.5-4.6GHz clocks people were used to getting with Ivy Bridge now is more of a crapshoot. If you don't care about that so much, I would go with the 4770k since they're practically equal in price.

Really, the 4770 gen doesn't have much of a performance increase as opposed to the 3770, but the latest Z87 motherboards for the 4770 have more advanced features and make it much easier to overclock (I am assuming you intend to overclock if you want to implement liquid cooling). So the 4770K would be a better option if you intend to overclock, but if you're on a budget the 3770k will offer almost the same performance at a cheaper price.

Do you know of a good combo that would make me want to switch to the 3770k?

Being paired with Noctua NH-D14 so heat shouldn't be a problem. I was hoping I could get a 4.5Ghz overclock on 4770k :/

Pairing with Noctua NH-D14, I was just referencing his video

Alright I just checked out some prices and it looks like you can get a 3770k + Z77 mobo for about ~$50 cheaper than a comparable 4770k + Z87 mobo.

In my opinion, I would go with the 3770k and grab a good cooler with that extra $50.

It should be quite stupid to emigrate from LGA 1155 Ivy Bridge to LGA 1150 Haswell. Another story will be Ivy Bridge-E vs Haswell-E.

4770k is better to due the MB having newer stuff out & lower TDP.
If you go with 3770k I can tell you that 3770k and ASUS Sabertooth Z77 MB is a great combo.
I am stable, trouble free with SLi, raids 0 setups(s) no overclocking hic ups like lock up or crashes first.
Does a lot of encode & gaming.
I would go now with the 4770k.
