Hi I have a GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-OC Force LGA 1150 Intel Z87 and a 4770k, also a Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold - 1200W Power Supply with 80 PLUS Gold Certification , when I power it on the screen is blank and then the motherboard immediately turns back off and try's to power up again continuously , I've done some overclocking before on this processor to 4.8 ghz then sent back the chassis I was using I stored the processor in a anti static bag in a box I don't know if its my processor or PSU, please help guys? if there's any more info I can supply you with please ask in resolving this issue

Solution
So you changed the board as well? Check that the processor pins are not bent and that there is no thermal paste in the processor's socket.

If nothing works perhaps you got a bad board.
Could very well be a bent pin but lets not jump to conclusions. First remove the system's power.

then:

- remove bios battery
- remove ram
- Make sure that all your standoffs are good and no shorting is occurring
- Check motherboard jumpers

Once that is done put the battery back in and one stick of ram; remove any discrete video card/s

Then make sure that only one monitor is hooked up to the internal graphics adapter. No mouse, keyboard, anything.

Start the system. If no luck still try swapping the ram to other slots.

If still no go, I'm out of suggestions other than checking the cpu socket. Hopefully that fixes it but if not maybe someone else around the forums can provide additional instruction.

Yes, it's an error code. Look it up in your motherboard manual. If you don't have the manual, you can get a digital copy from your motherboard manufacturer's website. This code will tell you have is wrong with the system.

What is your RAM?

Remove any graphics card and anything other than the PSU, board, memory, CPU and cooler. Connect monitor direct to board. Reset cmos, then try booting. If fail to boot, I'm afraid there's a fault with one of the critical components.

When you sent back your chassis, did you take the CPU off the board? When reassembling did you apply thermal paste? Check that the cooler is seated properly.

Gskill MEM 8Gx4|GSKILL F3-1600C7Q-32GTX R, yes I did take the cpu off the board, i removed the former heat paste with rubbing alchol. and installed water extreme 2.0 on it, that was a differnt board though same model.
