I've been having this problem for a few months now but i cant pin point the problem. My pc makes a clicking sound and then freezes in between those clicks, After the clicks are over my pc runs like normal. Sometimes the clicks are frequent and then other times it may click just only for a few. I did a error check on the hard drive and it came back with 0 errors when using the windows 8 Error Checking utility. If the hard drive was failing shouldn't it have failed by now? Or is it my PSU failing?

Current System Specs
Windows 8
AMD FX-8120(3.10 GHz)
Nvidia GeForce GTX 680
MSI 760GM-P34
8GB DDR3 1333MHz
Corsair GS600 600W

Solution
Clicking noises are usually a sign that the hard drive is about to fail.

It might be a problem with the drive head, which wouldnt necessarily return errors in a disk check.

I would backup my data asap.
