iam getting alienware aurora and iam not sure about graphic card, that's my spec iam going to get :

Intel® Core™ i7-4930K Processor (6-cores, 12MB Cache, Overclocked up to 4.1 GHz w/ Turbo Boost)
32768MB (4x8GB) 1600MHz DDR3 Quad Channel
256GB SSD + 1TB SATA 6Gb/s (7200RPM) 32MB Cache
alienware motherboard
CPU Liquid Cooling
875W power supply
Windows® 7 Ultimate (64 BIT) English

and my question about graphic card, i dont wanna sli because there is so much problem with it especially when iam playing not high req games but kinda old games like League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth or Starcraft 2 etc...

so my question is gtx 690 or 780?

or there is a 3rd option 6GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon™ HD 8990 but i think is kinda old one isnt?

I'm guessing you mean the 7990 which is two 7970's sandwiched together in one card. Me personally for the money your paying for your alienware/dell it's gonna be a waste. You could probably save yourself $1000 building it yourself, or getting it built from online retailer. If I had to choose a card outta those two it would be the 780.

there is no option for 290x, there is only these, gtx 690, 780 and that ati radeon or sli option? 680 SLI, 770 SLI and 780 SLI

is that right, than i can turn off 2nd gtx 780 any time and just run at single card?

iam going for alienware anyway, so i just need good choose for graphic, what would you recommend?

and is that right, that there is so many problems with gtx 690? i used had gtx 295 on my old pc which is 2 gpu connected in one card and was laud and temp was always high...so in my new alienware it could be the same? and also iam a bit affraid about microstutters in 690 especially in old games like League of Legends or Heroes of Newerth, what you thing guys? or i just go for best graphic card in the world? :)

Alienware dissuasion attempt incoming.

Have you considered building your own, or having a store do it? With Alienware you are going to end up paying double what the system is actually worth. Plus you are tied down after purchasing it because alot of Alienware parts use proprietary stuff, for example alot of people have issues changing the case if they wanted to, because the power buttons and such don't match up with normal ATX standard.

Anyways, to answer your question. The 780 is a better pick over the 690, its about 20% slower, but theres no SLI. This means theres zero possibility of microstutter and no chance of SLI not being compatible with a game you wanted to play, though these are rare. It just isn't worth the potential issues for a tiny bit more performance.

Yes you can disable the second GPU in a SLI setup at any time.

that's nice, and another question about that

1. microshutter, what exacly it does? is it really anoying? visable for eye? its like 1 sec dealy, frame drop, game slow down or something? because iam playing league of legends on high skill and lvl so i wanna be 100% smooth without any slow, lags, drops etc

2. "and no chance of SLI not being compatible with a game you wanted to play" - what exacly you ment by that?

3. so if i will go for gtx 780 on SLI i can always turn off 2nd one and just playing on one card all day long without any issue, right?

4. and regarding 690, generally is a good card? worth the money? worth the prise? are ppl having any problems with that card? or just works perfectly for high amount of money?

thanks

1. It's not that visible, and you won't really notice it.

2. Some games only support 1 GPU, they are mostly quite old will still run on one GPU fine.

3. You can turn it off if you think its causing problems but you shouldn't need too.

4. The 690 (which is on par with the 7990) is a decent card. You get what you pay for at the top end ;)

And a few points of my own:
1. Don't get an alienware for the love of god. You would be in much better hands getting your local PC dealer to build a PC for you if you aren't confident building one yourself. This will still save you about 1 grand!

2. Go for the biggest card you can afford! You can always chuck another one in later! ;)

Hope this resolves a few questions you had!

iam confident to build pc bymyself i did it few times and now iam done for now - to lazy! :) money isn's a problem at the end of the day so i just wanna get best possible deal ever for last 4 years, the reason why iam taking alienware it's i had a laptop and desktop before and i was 100% happy so that's why iam gonna get one more...+ i love warranty and next day support, if anything happend with my PC, on next day guy from alienware knock to my door and fixing/repleacing for brand new which is nice and that's a main reason for it

so basically you saying if some games suport only one GPU so if i will go for 690 which have 2 gps in one card that means it wont work? or you ment by that going for SLI?

Also to add (as I've been biting my tounge) you do know Alienware now is just a re-branded Dell? Sure a fancy case and a few accessories, but like Cookie said you'll be stuck with a lot of Dell junk your stuck with, including in your OS. I also think it's a total waste of money to buy sli 780's to play old games on...let them shine!

690 is fine yes. I'm just saying don't go with Alienware because they do really stupid things, like put crossfire AMD cards on an EVGA (re-brand of Nvidia) motherboard, which doesn't actually work...
