Im planning to upgrade my GPU to radeon hd 7550
I just wanted to know if Im going to experience big difference when gaming,
Im currently using 19.5 led monitor which has 1600x900 resolution

specs of my current system given below:
Processor= E4500 Core 2 Duo
Ram =4gb (3.25 usable)
Graphics card= GetForce GT 9500
Power Supply= 450watts
Hard disk= 320gb

I want to play games bf3,assasins creed3,gt4 and etc.
with high settings with 1600x900 resolution,

Can I run them smoothly with no any issues like lags,hangs or whatsoever?
Need help! Thanks in Advance!

It will be a major improvement over the 9500, I think there would be a bottleneck if you didn't OC your c2d

i'd take the 7770 if it was me, personally i would not go lower than that.
amd is releasing a new series though, you might want to hold off a bit and see which one you can afford and how it performs

thanks guys for the reply, planning to consider 7770 now and im still doing some research on it

but how about going OC to my c2d ,is there going to be a big upgrade on that? what are the drawbacks and advantages of doing it..

It would help eliminate some of the bottlenecks, you would have to look up a guide to do it safely. Or if you can find a cheap second hand E8400 or E8500 or something like that you could swap your cpu out for those.

i see,already watch doing OC on youtube and it seems easy, however considering on upgrading my cpu, can I upgrade it to i3 2100?
I mean how will i know if my motherboad can handle such cpu

Your motherboard wouldn't support that i3, Core 2 duo is socket LGA775 and the i3 2100 is LGA1155

thanks again for that info ,so i guess E8500 is the best cpu upgrade to my motherboard right?

It's one of the better dual cores for your motherboard (it would probably pair pretty well with a 7770 if you can find a second hand E8500 or E8400 for cheap), core 2 quads like the Q9450 etc. should also work, but even these second hand ones are pretty expensive.

Even so, I guess some people might suggest that you build a new PC since these older CPUs will hold you back in newer games. I have an E8500 with a GTX 260 and it held me back in Assassin's Creed 3.

well i think thats pretty much answer all my question.
thank you very much @rolandzhang3
I appreciate your help and time .

I learned a lot :D

Planning to get i3 now this Christmas since upgrading cpu seems like not going to make any sense in the future
